The County Government of Machakos held a follow-up consultative sectoral meeting with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) aimed at strengthening collaboration on industrial development and improving the county’s investment climate.
The meeting was chaired by the CECM for Trade, Industry, Tourism, Innovation, SMEs, Digital Economy, Gender and Social Welfare, Hon. Sharon N. Muasya, and brought together key county leadership including the CECM for Lands, Urban Development, Housing and Roads, Hon. Nathaniel Nganga, alongside the Chief Officer for Roads and Transport, Mike Jace.
Discussions focused on addressing key infrastructural challenges affecting industrial growth, with particular emphasis on improving road connectivity to major industrial zones in Athi River, Sabaki, and Syokimau. The engagement underscored the need for coordinated planning and investment in critical infrastructure to support efficient movement of goods and services.
Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM) remains a key strategic partner in advancing industrialization in Machakos County. The collaboration aligns with the broader vision of H.E. Governor Wavinya Ndeti to foster strong public-private partnerships that drive wealth creation, industrial expansion, and employment opportunities for residents.
The County Government reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with industry stakeholders to remove bottlenecks and position Machakos as a competitive and investor-friendly industrial hub.
